Name:
Salvisyrianone
Description:

Salvisyrianone is a diterpene found in the tanshinones subfamily. It has been reported to have pharmacological and antihypertensive activity, as well as cardiovascular disease prevention effects. Salvisyrianone has been shown to inhibit angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R), which are key enzymes in the renin-angiotensin system. Salvisyrianone also inhibits phosphodiesterase (PDE) and nitric oxide synthase (NOS), which are important for vasodilation. Salvisyrianone may also be involved in the regulation of blood pressure by inhibiting vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation. The molecular weight of salvisyrianone is 584.65 g/mol, with a melting point of 242°C and boiling point of 647°C.
