Product Information
Dimethyl lithospermate B (DMSPB) is a chemical compound that inhibits protein synthesis by inhibiting the activity of cyclase enzymes. DMSPB has been shown to be effective in reducing the production of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and the metabolic rate of liver cells. Acetate extract from Salvianolic acid, which contains DMSPB, has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects. Protocatechuic acid, another component of this extract, may inhibit TNF-α production by inhibiting its release from macrophages. It has also been shown to inhibit guanylate cyclase in human liver cells.
