Product Information
Ciluprevir is a direct-acting antiviral agent that inhibits the NS3 protease of hepatitis C virus. It binds to the active site ester linkages in the NS3 protein and prevents the formation of an enzyme-substrate complex. Ciluprevir has been shown to inhibit viral replication and reduce infectious disease symptoms in cell culture studies, as well as in humans with chronic hepatitis C virus infection. This drug is a member of a class of compounds called non-nucleoside inhibitors, which are not nucleosides or nucleotide analogues. Non-nucleoside inhibitors include compounds such as hydroxyl group, carbonyl group, ether group and nitro group.
