2-({4-Chloro-3-[(cyclohexylamino)carbonyl]-anilino}carbonyl)benzoic acid is a beta-lactam antibiotic that inhibits the activity of bacterial enzymes, such as beta-lactamases. It binds to the active site of these enzymes, preventing them from breaking down penicillins and cephalosporins. 2-({4-Chloro-3-[(cyclohexylamino)carbonyl]-anilino}carbonyl)benzoic acid has been shown to be active against bacteria such as Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This drug also has antibacterial properties, which are due to its ability to inhibit fatty acid synthesis in bacteria.
