SRT 1460 Trifluoroacetic Acid Salt is a small molecule that modulates the activity of the extracellular domain of the human amyloid precursor protein (APP). It has been shown to decrease levels of Aβ, the main component of senile plaques in Alzheimer's disease. The mechanism of action for SRT 1460 is unknown. This drug has been tested in clinical trials and shown to be safe and well-tolerated. The safety profile for this drug is similar to that observed with other APP-targeting treatments.
