Product Information

Name:
1-Oleoyl lysophosphatidic acid sodium salt
Description:

1-Oleoyl lysophosphatidic acid sodium salt (1-OLPA) is a phospholipid that has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of cancer cell growth. 1-OLPA inhibits the synthesis of proteins necessary for cell division, such as RNA polymerase and DNA polymerase. It also inhibits the production of growth factors, such as epidermal growth factor (EGF), which play an important role in tumorigenesis. 1-OLPA is found in the microenvironment around cancer cells, suggesting that it could be used to treat cancers by targeting the cells close to the tumor. 1-OLPA has been shown to inhibit cancerous growth in vitro, but its effects on human endometrial and fetal bovine cells have not yet been studied.
