3-[(4-Ethoxyphenyl)sulfamoyl]benzoic acid is a synthetic small molecule that is used as a research tool to study protein interactions. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of ion channels, including potassium and sodium channels. 3-[(4-Ethoxyphenyl)sulfamoyl]benzoic acid also binds to the receptor and can activate it by inducing conformational changes in the receptor, which leads to an increase in calcium influx. This ligand has been used as a pharmacological tool for studying G-protein coupled receptors.
