It has been shown to inhibit the activity of ion channels, including potassium and sodium channels. 3-[(4-Ethoxyphenyl)sulfamoyl]benzoic acid also binds to the receptor and can activate it by inducing conformational changes in the receptor, which leads to an increase in calcium influx.
