26-Oxofusidic acid is a compound of the fusidic acid class. It has been used in pharmaceutical dosage forms as an anti-inflammatory agent. 26-Oxofusidic acid can be produced by a single step reaction from hexafluoroisopropanol and methanesulfonyl chloride. The purity of the product can be assessed using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). 26-Oxofusidic acid is chemically similar to fusidic acid, with the exception that it does not contain a hydroxyl group on the 6th carbon.
