8-Hydroxy-5-O-beta-D-glucopyranosylpsoralen is an extract from the plant ipomoea. This extract has been shown to have antiulcer activity, hepatoprotective effects, and antihypertensive properties. It is a cellular inhibitor that inhibits the activities of oxidases and anticoagulant enzymes. 8-Hydroxy-5-O-beta-D-glucopyranosylpsoralen also inhibits hepg2 cells, which play a role in inflammation and cancer. The drug has also been shown to inhibit phenylpropanoid glycosides, which are responsible for the production of flavonoids.
