Product Information
Methyl 2-chloro-3-hydroxybenzoate is a conformationally restricted analog of the natural product benzoic acid. It has been shown to have in vivo efficacy comparable to that of the natural compound, and it is a potential linker for growth factor inhibitors. Methyl 2-chloro-3-hydroxybenzoate inhibits the activity of factor receptor tyrosine kinases, which are enzymes that regulate cellular proliferation. This compound may also be used to inhibit regressive tumor cells and to treat metastatic melanoma. Methyl 2-chloro-3-hydroxybenzoate has been shown to be an inhibitor of pyrimidine synthesis, which makes it useful for treating cancer caused by mutations in p53 tumor suppressor gene. The physicochemical properties of methyl 2-chloro-3-hydroxybenzoate make it suitable for use as a drug delivery agent.
