Product Information
2,5-Diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane-3,6-dione (DBDO) is a chiral dioxime that is used in organic synthesis as a catalyst and an enantioselective hydrogenation agent. DBDO binds to the active site of the enzyme methoxy group, which catalyzes the methyl group transfer from methoxy to other molecules. The carbonyl group of DBDO reacts with the nucleophilic groups on the substrate molecule such as hydroxyl or amino groups, forming an intermediate lactam. This intermediate reacts with another molecule to form a new product. DBDO has been shown to be effective in modelling nature and synthetic systems and supramolecular assemblies.
