Description

1-(2,3-Dihydro-1,4-benzodioxin-2-yl)ethanone is an ester that is synthesized through the reaction of diethylamine with sulfur. This compound has a pharmacophoric structure that includes amines and n-substituted amines. It has been shown to have sympatholytic effects in animals by blocking the release of noradrenaline and adrenaline. 1-(2,3-Dihydro-1,4-benzodioxin-2-yl)ethanone also binds to chloride ions and inhibits acid chloride formation in the body by reacting with acid chlorides to form amides.
