Diphenyl(p-tolyl)phosphine is a sodium salt of diphenyl(p-tolyl)phosphine. It has been shown to have anticancer activity in mice with murine hepatoma, as well as in vitro cytotoxic activity against carcinoma cell lines. The mechanism of action for this compound may involve silver ions that are generated from the reaction of diphenyl(p-tolyl)phosphine with chloride. This compound also acts as a chelate ring with x-ray diffraction data and has been shown to have multinuclear nmr spectra.
