Product Information
Coenzyme Q6 is a coenzyme that is not synthesized by humans and must be ingested from the diet. Coenzyme Q6 has been shown to inhibit the activity of cycloheximide in vitro, which is an antibiotic used to treat metabolic disorders in humans. A study on congenital heart disease in rats showed that expression plasmids containing human CoQ10 were able to reduce the severity of heart defects. This enzyme also participates in reactions that produce energy for cell function, such as transfer reactions and glycolysis. The hydroxyl group of CoQ10 can act as a donor or acceptor of hydrogen atoms, which are important for fatty acid synthesis. Coenzyme Q6 also participates in diagnostic tests, such as biochemical properties and diagnosis with sodium citrate.
