3-Cyanopropyltriethoxysilane is a chemical compound with the formula (CH)Si(OCH) that can be used to immobilize palladium complexes. It is prepared by reacting sodium hydroxide solutions with a chlorosilane. 3-Cyanopropyltriethoxysilane has been shown to be an efficient method for immobilizing various metal ions, including palladium and silver ions. The uptake of water vapor and uptake of hydrochloric acid are also high in this material. 3-Cyanopropyltriethoxysilane can be used as a coating agent for surfaces such as glass, wood, and concrete. This compound reacts with phenyl groups to form stable coatings on these surfaces.
