Sodium bromoacetate is a biocompatible polymer that has shown promising results in the treatment of autoimmune diseases and HIV infection. Sodium bromoacetate is a molecule with water permeability properties, which makes it ideal for use as a drug delivery system. It has been demonstrated that sodium bromoacetate can be used to generate monoclonal antibodies in mice and rats. These antibodies are specific to antigens on the surface of lymphocytes, such as HLA-DR, CD3, CD4, and CD8. This drug also has thermodynamic data available for its vapor pressure and heat capacity. Sodium bromoacetate has been shown to inhibit the growth of infectious bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus by binding to fatty acids on the cell wall membrane. The reaction mechanism of sodium bromoacetate involves formation of an ester linkage between the carboxylic acid group
