Product Information
- Dimethyldiphenyltincolorlessliq
- Dimethyl(Diphenyl)Stannane
Dimethyldiphenyltin is a diisocyanate that has been used as an intermediate for the production of polymers. It also serves as a precursor to other compounds, such as methylphenyldiphenylmethane, which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. Dimethyldiphenyltin can be synthesized by reaction of diphenylmethane with formaldehyde and dimethyl amine in the presence of a catalyst. The reaction products are chlorides and catalysts. Dimethyldiphenyltin is soluble in water and reacts with hydroxy groups to form hydroxymethyl groups. This product has viscosity-increasing properties and can be used in viscous liquids, such as paint or varnish. It is also used as an additive in rubber compounds to increase their viscosity. Dimethyldiphenyltin reacts with amines to form gel permeation chromatography (GPC) products.
