Description:
N-(2,4-Dinitrophenyl)glycine is a fluorescent reagent that binds to the receptor site on an antibody. It is soluble in water and sodium citrate. The second-order rate constant for the reaction of N-(2,4-Dinitrophenyl)glycine with sodium salts is approximately 6.6×10 M-1s-1 at 25 °C. N-(2,4-Dinitrophenyl)glycine has been shown to inhibit the production of antibodies when combined with tryptophan fluorescence. This agent can be used to measure the amount of neutral ph in a solution by measuring its effect on tryptophan fluorescence.
