Product Information
2-(Tritylthio)ethanamine (TTEE) is a molecule that can be used to immobilize proteins and nucleic acids. It has been shown to have anticancer activity, with a mechanism of action that is dependent on the inhibition of sirtuin 2. TTEE interacts with the nitrogen atoms of human serum albumin and inhibits its binding to the tumor cell surface. This interaction prevents the accumulation of albumin in the tumor tissue, thereby reducing tumor growth. The molecular modeling studies show TTEE binds to sorafenib and reduces its inhibitory effect on cancer cells. TTEE also inhibits glycol ethers, which are known to cause cancer in humans. Structural studies of TTEE reveal that this molecule has an architecture that is able to bind two molecules at once, while titration calorimetry studies show it binds two molecules per binding site.
