Pyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrile is a chemical compound that belongs to the group of aromatic compounds. It is a colorless solid with a melting point of -105°C and a boiling point of 179°C. Pyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrile is used in the synthesis of drugs for cancer treatment and is also used as an intermediate in the production of other organic compounds. This compound has been shown to have anticancer activity against bladder cancer cells and cardiovascular disorders by inhibiting the formation of cholesterol plaques. Pyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrile has been shown to be toxic to mice at high doses, but these effects are reversible.
