Description:
2-(2,4-Dichloro-phenoxy)-ethylamine is an oxidase inhibitor that prevents the oxidation of ethanol by the enzyme oxidase. It has been shown to protect against alcohol-induced epinasty in wheat seedlings and acetaldehyde toxicity in radish, as well as inhibiting ethylamine 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) induced coleoptile growth inhibition and epinasty. Extracts of this compound have also been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi.
