Antimony(III) selenide is a semiconductor material that can be used as a photocurrent and luminescent material. It has been shown to have anti-cancer properties, which may be due to its ability to produce cytotoxic reactive oxygen species (ROS) with high specificity for cancer cells. Antimony(III) selenide has also been shown to have optical properties that can be tuned by the introduction of chloride ions. This material also exhibits ligand-based photocatalytic activity and can be used in nanosheets for applications such as treatments for cancer cells, hyperthermia, or chalcogenide based devices.
