Description:
1,3-Dioctanoin is a cytosolic second messenger that inhibits the production of diacylglycerol (DAG) by affecting the activity of phospholipase C. It has an inhibitory effect on the growth of V79 cells and rat liver microsomes. 1,3-Dioctanoin also acts as an antimicrobial agent by inhibiting fatty acid synthesis in bacteria.
