Product Information

Name:
Isoquinoline-1-carboxylic acid amide
Synonyms:
  • 1-Isoquinolinecarboxamide
  • Isoquinaldamide
  • NSC 115632
Description:

Isoquinoline-1-carboxylic acid amide is a potential biomarker for oxidative stress and autoimmune diseases. It has been shown to inhibit the production of the proinflammatory cytokine IL-10, which may be due to its ability to decrease the energy metabolism in cells. Isoquinoline-1-carboxylic acid amide can also bind to benzodiazepine receptors, leading to an increase in gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) levels. This drug has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against human tumor cell lines and is effective at inhibiting dpp-iv activity. Isoquinoline-1-carboxylic acid amide also inhibits human protein synthesis by binding with glutamine residues on ribosomes. It has been shown that long term exposure to this drug can cause chronic inflammation in the bv2 microglial cells, resulting in significant cytotoxicity.
