Product Information
2-(Methylthio)benzoyl chloride is a cytostatic agent that inhibits the growth of cancer cells in culture by suppressing DNA synthesis. It interacts with the chloride ion to form a stable, non-toxic salt, which is then taken up into the cell. The anticancer activity of 2-(methylthio)benzoyl chloride has been shown in both multinuclear and single-crystal x-ray diffraction studies on human breast cancer cell lines. 2-(Methylthio)benzoyl chloride has been shown to be highly active against hCT116 cells and other cancer cell lines as well.
