Product Information
4-Methyl-1,8-naphthyridine is a tetradentate ligand. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P4/mbm with its four methyl groups occupying two different positions in the crystal structure. In electrochemical studies, 4-methyl-1,8-naphthyridine interacts with copper and stabilizes the molecule through an electrochemical interaction. X-ray studies have revealed that the molecular structure of 4-methyl-1,8-naphthyridine is linear and stacks with other molecules. The electrochemical properties of this compound are best studied in alkaline media where it has been found to be more stable than in acidic or neutral conditions.
