3,4-Bis(benzyloxy)benzoic acid is a chemical compound that can be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other organic compounds. It has been shown to react with ethyl chloroformate and triethylamine to form 3,4-bis(benzyloxy)benzoic acid ethyl ester. This compound is also a precursor for the synthesis of fullerene. It has been found to be an effective filtration agent due to its low solubility in water and methylbenzene. A solution of this compound can be mixed with anhydrous sodium and ethyl acetate to precipitate 3,4-bis(benzyloxy)benzoic acid sodium salt.
