1,4-Bis(butyryloxy)-2-butene is a solvent that is used as a stabilizer for polyurethane and other polymers. It is also used in the production of deionized water, toluene, and organic solvents. 1,4-Bis(butyryloxy)-2-butene exhibits synergistic effects with other chemicals. It has been shown to be nontoxic and nonflammable up to a concentration of 10%.
