Description:
4'-Methoxyvalerophenone is a pyrazole derivative that can be synthesized by photolysis of 3-methoxy-4-methoxymethylphenol and 4-hydroxyacetophenone. It has been shown to have an affinity for estrogen receptors, which may be due to its interaction with the aromatic ring. The binding of 4'-methoxyvalerophenone to the 17β-estradiol receptor leads to an increase in the production of nitric oxide. This compound also increases the efficiency of photocages in DNA cleavage reactions.
