Description:

3,6-Bis(methylsulfanyl)-1,2,4,5-tetraazine is a derivative of the tetrazine molecule. It is an enantiomer with a molecular weight of 235.3g/mol and a melting point of -25°C. 3,6-Bis(methylsulfanyl)-1,2,4,5-tetraazine also has a benzene ring in its structure and can be synthesized via the Diels-Alder reaction or by the hydroiodide route. This compound has magnetic properties and can be used for electron spin resonance measurements due to its paramagnetic nature. 3,6-Bis(methylsulfanyl)-1,2,4,5-tetraazine is soluble in water and hydroiodide but insoluble in ether and benzene. The magnetic properties are lost when this substance reacts with acid or alkali.
