1,2,3-Trimethylcyclohexane is a monoterpene hydrocarbon that has been shown to have antioxidant potential. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells and induces apoptosis in these cells. 1,2,3-Trimethylcyclohexane can be used as an efficient synthetic precursor for α-pinene. This compound can also be thermally activated by using a Bunsen burner or other heat source to postulate the molecules into reactive radicals.
