10-Bromo-7H-benzo[c]carbazole is an organic compound that can be synthesized by refluxing dichloromethane with ethyl alcohol. The reaction mixture is then treated with hydrazine and methylbenzene to yield 10-bromo-7H-benzo[c]carbazole. This chemical has a variety of industrial uses, including as a solvent in the production of other chemicals, such as cyclohexanone and 2-naphthylhydrazine. 10-Bromo-7H-benzo[c]carbazole also has been shown to have the ability to degrade pollutants in wastewater, such as chlorinated hydrocarbons and phenols.
