Description:

2-Phenylthiomethylbenzoic Acid is an isomer of 2-phenylthioethylbenzoic acid, which has antibacterial activity against a wide range of bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). It inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the bacterial ribosome and preventing protein synthesis. 2-Phenylthiomethylbenzoic Acid also has anti-fungal properties. This drug binds to the fungal cell wall and disrupts the membrane, causing cell death.
