Description:

Carabrone is a sesquiterpene lactone that belongs to the class of fructus. It has been found in the roots of Fructus Ligustri and is used as a traditional Chinese herb for the treatment of various diseases. Carabrone has been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect on RAW264.7 cells, which are rat macrophages stimulated with lipopolysaccharides (LPS). It also inhibits mitochondrial membrane potential, which induces apoptosis and cell death by caspase activation. Carabrone has also been shown to inhibit P-hydroxybenzoic acid and carabrone, two chemical compounds that cause inflammation in macrophages.
