Product Information
2-Guanidinopropionic acid (2GP) is an amino acid that can be synthesized by the hydrolysis of guanidinoacetate. 2GP is used as a building block for the synthesis of protein and nucleic acids. It has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth in vitro, without toxicity to mammalian cells. The 2GP molecule has a resonant frequency of about 170 megahertz and can be detected using a spin resonance spectrometer. It is also used in biochemical research for filtration, chromatographic separations, and electrophoresis.
