2-Oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxamide is a coumarin derivative that inhibits mitochondrial membrane potential and is used as an inhibitor of cardiac hypertrophy. It also has inhibitory effects on the activity of mitochondria, which are important for maintaining the balance between ATP production and consumption in cells. 2-Oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxamide is used to treat cancer and inflammatory diseases, such as arthritis and asthma. This drug can be administered by injection or orally. The oral bioavailability of 2-Oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxamide is about 60% and has a half life of 3 hours.
