Description:
Virosecurinine is a natural compound that belongs to the group of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. It has significant cytotoxicity against various cell lines and inhibits cellular transformation by binding to the ABC transporter on the outer surface of cells, thereby inhibiting the release of toxins and other substances into the cytoplasm. Virosecurinine also has antiviral properties and can inhibit RNA synthesis in cells infected with HIV. This compound also binds to a specific site on natural killer cells, which may be related to its antitumor activity. Virosecurinine binds to the ABC transporter on mitochondria membranes, which may be responsible for its effects on mitochondrial membrane potential.
