Description:
Octan-2-yl (2,4-dichlorophenoxy)acetate is an adjuvant that is used in bioassays and chromatographic techniques. It has been shown to increase the volatility of hexane, which makes it useful for extraction of volatile compounds from plant leaves. Octan-2-yl (2,4-dichlorophenoxy)acetate also increases the germination rate of Pisum sativum seeds. This agent is a monocarboxylic acid that is polymerized with ethylene oxide to form surfactants that are active at low concentrations.
