1,2-Dipiperidinoethane is a cholinergic compound that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects. It binds to the DNA of bacteria and inhibits the expression of proteins involved in the inflammatory response. It also inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing transcription and replication. 1,2-Dipiperidinoethane is an aliphatic hydrocarbon molecule with a primary amino group at one end. The other end contains an electron withdrawing group that allows it to bind to oxygen atoms on aromatic molecules or nitrogen atoms on heterocycles. This makes it possible for this compound to be conjugated with polymers such as polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). This polymerization initiator can react with unsaturated polyesters and polyethers, which are used in coating materials for medical devices such as catheters and stents.END>
