Product Information
- Acenaphtenequinone dioxime
- N-hydroxy-2-nitrosoacenaphthylen-1-amine
Acenaphthenequinone dioxime is a polynuclear compound that is made up of two naphthalene rings and one quinone. It is an organic solvent and has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the enzyme xanthine oxidase with IC50 values in the low micromolar range. Acenaphthenequinone dioxime has been synthesized from dimethylformamide, which led to its discovery as an inhibitor of xanthine oxidase. The compound has been studied by x-ray crystallography, spectroscopy, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Acenaphthenequinone Dioxime also inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in neutrophils and macrophages.
