Product Information
L-Aspartic acid β-hydroxamate is a chemical compound that has been shown to inhibit angiogenesis in the eye. It prevents the growth of new blood vessels by inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) activity. L-Aspartic acid β-hydroxamate also inhibits racemase and aminopeptidase activities, which may be important for its anti-cancer effects. L-Aspartic acid β-hydroxamate has been shown to have antineoplastic properties in cultured cells and animal models, with an inhibition constant (Ki) of ˜1 μM for the enzyme racemase. It also inhibits transfer reactions, which are important for DNA synthesis and protein synthesis.
