Product Information
Dodecylamine hydrobromide is a nanoparticulate composition that is used for the treatment of infectious diseases. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of antibiotic-resistant strains, such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis. Dodecylamine hydrobromide has been shown to act as an inhibitor at phase transition temperatures in water vapor, which may be related to its antimicrobial activity. Dodecylamine hydrobromide can be synthesized by the reaction of dodecylamine with bromine or hydrogen bromide gas in aqueous solution. Dodecylamine hydrobromide can also be obtained from Quillaja saponaria, an evergreen tree native to Chile and Argentina. Dodecylamine hydrobromide inhibits the enzyme activities of quillaja saponaria. The inhibition mechanism is not known
