7-Amino-3-methyl-8-oxo-5-thia-1-aza-bicyclo[4.2.0]octane (7AMTBO) is a chemical compound that is an intermediate in the synthesis of the drug bicalutamide. It is an acylation product of 7AMTBO and a fatty acid, which can be catalyzed by homogeneous catalysts. The binding constants for 7AMTBO with e. cloacae and fatty acids have been measured using FTIR spectroscopy and kinetic experiments, respectively. These results show that the binding constants are high, with values ranging from 107 to 109 M−1.
