Description:
Glyceryl monolinoleate is a lipid that is manufactured from glycerol and monolinolein. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in vitro with a MIC of 0.5-2.0%. In vivo, glyceryl monolinoleate has been shown to be effective against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, with no adverse effects on the host. Glyceryl monolinoleate is not active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Mycobacterium avium complex, which are acid-fast bacteria.
