Product Information
- 2-pyridinamine, N-ethyl-3-nitro-
- Ethyl-(3-nitropyridin-2-yl)amine
- N-Ethyl-3-nitro-2-pyridinamine
- Pyridine, 2-(ethylamino)-3-nitro-
2-Ethylamino-3-nitropyridine is a pyridine compound that reacts with ammonium chloride to form 2-ethylamino-3-nitropyridinium chloride. The 2-ethylamino group is hydrolyzed by the water in the solution. This reaction yields a yellow solution of 2,4,6-trinitrophenol. The reaction time is dependent on other factors such as the concentration of reactants and temperature. 2-Ethylamino-3-nitropyridine can be recycled and used again for the same chemical reaction. This product can be used to produce dyes, pharmaceuticals, and explosives. It is manufactured industrially from toluene and methylamine in a two step process.
