Product Information
3-Nitro-2-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)pyridine (NPP) is a chlorinated organic compound that can be synthesized by the reaction of chlorobenzene with disulfide. It is a primary amine with a pyridyl moiety, which makes it an active catalyst. NPP can be used in elemental analysis techniques, such as X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction, to determine the elemental composition of materials. The chloride substituents on the nitrogen atom are responsible for its high reactivity with palladium chloride. The technique of using NPP as an active catalyst has been used to produce nanosized palladium particles for use in hydrogenation reactions.
