Description:

Benzyl 4-methoxyphenyl sulfide is an organic compound that is the product of the reaction between benzaldehyde and methoxybenzene. It is a white solid with a melting point of about 120°C. Benzyl 4-methoxyphenyl sulfide has been envisaged to be used in the production of oxygenated compounds, such as phenols, alcohols, and ethers. The bond cleavage reaction can be carried out using halides or furfural. In addition, it can also be used to produce cationic surfactants. Benzyl 4-methoxyphenyl sulfide is soluble in organic solvents such as acetone, chloroform, and ether. This compound has been shown to interact with mesoporous silica materials, leading to the formation of diphenyl sulfoxide products with high surface areas. Finally, benzyl 4-methoxyphenyl sulfide can undergo photo
