Product Information

Name:
2-Chlorodibenzofuran
Synonyms:
  • 2-Monochlorodibenzofuran
  • Dibenzofuran, 2-chloro
  • Pcdf 2
Description:

2-Chlorodibenzofuran is an aromatic compound that has been shown to have a high inhibitory effect on the enzyme activities of bacterial strains. The dioxygenation of 2-chlorodibenzofuran yields two chlorinated products, biphenyl and dichlorobiphenyl. The structural analysis of the dry weight and strain of adipose tissue showed that 2-chlorodibenzofuran reduced the amount of adipose tissue in rats. This reduction in adipose tissue may be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of enzymes that are involved in lipid synthesis. It also has a number of biochemical properties, including its ability to bind with proteins, block amino acid metabolism, and affect lipid metabolism.
