Product Information
4-Isobutyloxazolidine-2,5-dione (IBOD) is a trifluoroacetic acid derivative that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It has been shown to be biodegradable and non-toxic in vivo, and can be used as an anticancer agent. IBOD has reactive properties that are useful in the synthesis of other compounds. The ring-opening reaction of IBOD with hexane gives a β-unsaturated ketone. This compound is also used to synthesize benzyl groups via intramolecular hydrogen transfer reactions. These reactions are stereoselective because the active group is located on one side of the molecule.
