Description:
6-Phenyl-pyridazine-3-thiol (6PPT) is a corrosion inhibitor that is used for the protection of steel and other metals against corrosion. It has been shown to be an effective corrosion inhibitor for chloride environments and potentiodynamic polarization tests. 6PPT showed no chemical reactivity with amide groups or hydrogen bond acceptors and was found to have a high uptake in the presence of both chloride ion and amide groups. The profile of 6PPT was found to be similar to pyridazine, but it did not show electrochemical activity.
